Alrighty folks, here’s next week’s meal plan! I’ve got it up a little early because Whole 30 takes some extra planning to make sure we’ve got the homemade stuff we need and the babies also have food they’ll enjoy. I’m mostly giving them everything we’re going to eat, with a few additions to their breakfast (hard to take some of it to go, which we do for daycare), and lunches that are more suited for their packed lunch.
To be honest, I feared that Whole 30 might break the bank. My husband and I have a pretty strict budget we stick to here in Egypt (since one of the reasons we’re here to is pay off things and save), and it doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room to up our grocery budget. I feared with the extra fruits and veggies, possibly making separate meals for the babies, plus all the meat we will eat, that it would push us way over. In the end we’ll be just about $15 over our normal budget, however, I doubled up on our fish we get because it was on sale, so that will come in handy next week, and I had to get some spices that we’ve used up or haven’t gotten here in Egypt yet. So in the end, we should be all set for the month. I was VERY pleased to see that.
Here’s the meal plan for PDF download. If the babies have separate food, it’s listed in red. I’ll post the pear donut recipe tomorrow as it’s still in the works! 🙂
